LAN Speed Test is a utility to test your LAN speed, wired or wireless. This is done by performing a write/read process of a file in your PC or server through your LAN connection.

You can also change the size of the file (packet) from 1 to 100 MB, and the folder on your PC or server IP where this packet should be written to and read from. Having calculated the average time it takes to write and read this file and the size of the packet, this utility gives you the average bandwidth of your LAN connection. With these results, you can make your conclusions whether your LAN is a 100Mbps or 1000Mbps wired, or 802.11x wireless. You can optimize the design and configuration of your LAN if the results are lower than you expected.

The program lets you save and print the results. It's also completely portable and is only a few KB is size; moreover, the tests are very fast, and the results are reliable.
